America, It's YOUR fault Bush Won!!! so says the Left

Here's the problem with big-city liberals. They think everyone who disagrees with them is stupid. According to some viewers, during the election coverage, Chris Mathews tried to explain the south to his viewers: "Katie the south part of the country is different. People that don't live there don't understand. They believe there is WMD in Iraq. They are simple people. They are not analytical......."

Some more qoutes from the NYTimes:"I'm saddened by what I feel is the obtuseness and shortsightedness of a good part of the country--the heartland," Dr. Joseph said. "This kind of redneck, shoot-from-the-hip mentality and a very concrete interpretation of religion is prevalent in Bush country--in theheartland."New Yorkers are more sophisticated and at a level of consciousness where we realize we have to think of globalization, of one mankind, that what's going to injure masses of people is not good for us," he said.

From blogger Eric Alterman: Let's face it. It's not Kerry's fault. It's not Nader's fault (this time). It's not the media's fault (though they do bear a heavy responsibility for much of what ails our political system). It's not"our" fault either. The problem is just this: Slightly more than half of the citizens of this country simply do not care about what those of us in the "reality-based community" say or believe about anything.

And then the Euro's started: http://www.mirror.co.uk/frontpages/http://www

Do they think that by insulting those Americans who voted Republican, they'll convince us to vote Democrat next time?

Here are some of my favorite parts:

"The election results reflect the decision of the right wing to cultivate and exploit ignorance in the citizenry. I suppose the good news is that 55 million Americans have evaded the ignorance-inducing machine. But 58 million have not. (Well, almost 58 million—my relatives are not ignorant, they are just greedy and full of classic Republican feelings of superiority.)

Ignorance and bloodlust have a long tradition in the United States, especially in the red states.

Here is how ignorance works: First, they put the fear of God into you—if you don't believe in the literal word of the Bible, you will burn in hell.

The reason the Democrats have lost five of the last seven presidential elections is simple: A generation ago, the big capitalists, who have no morals, as we know, decided to make use of the religious right in their class war against the middle class and against the regulations that were protecting those whom they considered to be their rightful prey—workers and consumers."
